…The cookies, incidentally, were a massive hit. Apparently, even accountants have a weakness for chocolate chip. And as I walked home, the scent of freshly baked goods still clinging to my clothes, I felt a surge of triumphant satisfaction. This was going to be easier than I thought. Daniel, that poor, oblivious boy, was about to get the girlfriend he so desperately needed, and I, Milkah, the mastermind of modern romance, was going to make it happen. The universe had clearly sent me this mission, and I was not about to let it down. My brother deserved happiness, and I was just the sister to deliver it, one misguided matchmaking attempt at a time.
