…“Well,” Whisker purred, shaking water from her fur, her voice laced with relief. “That was considerably less… apocalyptic. And blessedly turtle-free.” Leo looked around, a sense of cautious optimism blooming within him. This world felt different. Stable. For the first time in what felt like an eternity, he dared to hope. Perhaps, just perhaps, they were finally on the right path. But as he took a deep breath, he couldn’t shake the lingering image of that boy, his strange arm, and the unsettling feeling that their journey was far from over. The portals might have spat them out of one danger, but the echoes of what lay ahead were already beginning to whisper.
