…Leo paused. He had never seen this man before. “I’m looking for the Pink Panther.” The old man smiled, a knowing smile that crinkled the corners of his eyes. “Then you’ll need more than a map. But you’ve made the first step. That’s the hardest.” Before Leo could ask what he meant, the man turned and walked away, disappearing into the morning mist as if he had never been there. Leo stared at the empty space, then down at the map. The path ahead stretched long and uncertain. But for the first time since his father’s death, he felt something other than grief. He felt a spark of courage. He clutched the map, took another step forward, and did not stop.
