…It wasn’t a trick of the light. The shimmer grew, coalescing into a form, delicate and winged, no bigger than her thumb. It hovered in the air, its wings beating with a sound like the faintest whisper of wind chimes. A fairy. Chloe’s breath hitched. This was no ordinary hospital room surprise. This was something else entirely. The fairy, with hair spun from moonlight and eyes like dewdrops, tilted its head, a smile as bright as a firefly gracing its tiny face. It beckoned, a silent invitation that resonated deep within Chloe’s adventurous spirit. The sterile white walls seemed to recede, replaced by a shimmering portal that pulsed with an otherworldly glow.
