That is the bond we trained for.” Kael clapped Adam on the shoulder. “The trap failed. He will not expect us to press forward now.” Adam looked at the path ahead. The stone circle was visible through the thinning mist—ancient, massive, waiting. “Then we press forward. Together.” Ally’s hand found his. “Together.” They walked toward the stones, the warmth of their bond bright against the lingering cold.
