…I looked out at the horizon, the last sliver of sun dipping below the waves. The clear distinctions between good and evil, between hero and villain, had dissolved into the twilight. I had come to Acapulco seeking peace, a respite from the chaos. Instead, I had found a woman who embodied that chaos, and in doing so, had found a new kind of peace within myself. It wasn't the peace of ignorance, or of detachment. It was the peace of acceptance, of understanding that life, like love, was rarely black and white. It was a messy, complicated, and often dangerous shade of grey. And for the first time, I felt like I could live in it.
