…The sun began its slow descent towards the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and crimson. It was a beautiful, terrifying spectacle. The end of a day, and perhaps, the end of my old life. I looked at Claudia, at the woman who had shattered my carefully constructed peace, and knew that no matter which path I chose, I would never be the same. The lines between right and wrong, between duty and desire, had blurred into an indistinguishable haze, and I was standing right in the middle of it, the weight of my decision pressing down on me like the vast, indifferent ocean.
