He wore a dark trench coat, and his face was obscured by the shadow of a fedora pulled low. He hadn’t been there a moment ago. He was just… there. Ronnie saw him too. Her hand instinctively went to something beneath the counter. Her eyes flickered to mine, a silent warning. The man in the fedora took a slow step into the shop. He didn’t say a word.
