…She thought of Drake, his impulsive leaps and daring plans. He would probably try to jump, or find some ridiculous way to swing across. She sighed. "But I can't do this alone," she whispered, the words tumbling out before she could stop them. The lavender cloud simply drifted closer, offering silent comfort. Lilly looked at the crumbling gingerbread. It was too far to jump, too unstable to walk. She was stuck. The practical, logical path had become a sticky, precarious situation. She closed her eyes, a single tear escaping and landing on the gingerbread, where it sizzled slightly before disappearing. She was so tired of being scared, and so tired of being alone.
