…She looked at the gingerbread cookie, the pattern of her street now clearer than ever. She knew, with a certainty that settled deep in her bones, that this was important. But she couldn’t do it alone. She needed Drake. And Drake, she suspected, needed her even more. She took a deep breath, the sweet, minty air filling her lungs. “Drake!” she called out, her voice stronger this time, filled with a newfound determination. “Drake, where are you? I think I found something!” She hoped he could hear her, hoped he would listen, and hoped, more than anything, that they could find their way back to being friends, and back home, together.
