…Red was still gone. The mystery still hung heavy in the air, a dark cloud over my immediate future. But for the first time in what felt like forever, I saw a sliver of light breaking through the storm. It wasn’t a clear path, not by a long shot. It was a faint glimmer, a whispered promise of something more. And for now, that was enough to keep me moving. To keep me looking for the boy I used to be, the boy Tau Adwin seemed to believe still existed. The South Side was still a beast, but maybe, just maybe, I had found a way to start taming it.
