…The indifference of the world, the fear that clung to his father’s name like a shroud, was a bitter poison, and Mihnea felt its sting with a ferocity that threatened to consume him. His father, his protector, his legend – denied even the basic dignity of sacred ground. The betrayal was a fresh wound, reopening old scars of loss and injustice.
