…The village was safe. The immediate threat had been averted. But the world, for Hana, would never be the same. She had looked into the abyss and found not madness, but a bridge. And on that bridge, she had met a man who was now a part of her scattered reality. The truce was fragile, the peace hard-won, but for the first time in a long time, Hana felt a flicker of hope, a quiet certainty that even across the widest distances, some connections could not be broken. She met Kenji’s gaze, and in his weary eyes, she saw a reflection of her own resolve. The journey was far from over, but they had faced the darkness together, and emerged, scarred but not defeated.
