…He walked back to his desk, picked up his history textbook, and opened it to the chapter he was struggling with. He reread a paragraph, then another, his brow furrowed in concentration. It was difficult, and he knew the test would still be a challenge. But as he worked, a quiet determination settled within him. He would face the test with what he knew, with his own effort.
