He was cornered in the very heart of Zerzura. The man smiled. "But I'm afraid this is where your story ends. The treasure—and the knowledge—belongs to us now." Aris looked at the glowing wall behind the throne, and in that moment, he understood. The glow was not light. It was a force field, an energy barrier. And beyond it, he glimpsed a vast space, filled with machines and screens, technology far beyond anything on Earth. Zerzura was not a lost city. It was an alien outpost.
