…"Little Li," Sun-jin called out, her voice soft, a melody in itself, "come, Mama." The boy, his face alight with innocent joy, turned from his play, a delicate pink blossom clutched in his fist. He trotted towards her, his reply a sweet, melodic hum in Japanese, "Coming, Mama." A fleeting moment, a shared smile, and then a flash of movement caught his eye. A little girl, her laughter like wind chimes, had captured his attention. Sun-jin watched them, a pang of bittersweet memory piercing her heart as she saw Little Li’s giggles, his childish babble directed at his new playmate, a perfect mirror of the joy Li himself had brought into her life.
