We meet tomorrow at 10 to discuss. Bring your courage." The responses came quickly—shock, excitement, nervous emojis. But no one said no. I set down the phone and looked at the compact, the press kit, the curriculum outline. They were no longer just words on paper. They were the scaffolding of something real. And tomorrow, I would learn how to stand on that stage without falling. The light before the stage was bright. But I was learning to see in it.
