…The figure raised a hand in a mocking salute, then vanished. Jaxson's blood ran cold. "Did you see that?" Rossi and Marco looked up, but the rooftop was empty. "See what?" Rossi asked. "Nothing. Probably just my imagination." But he knew it wasn't. The Prime was watching. And the real battle was only beginning. They continued on, the shadows stretching behind them. The Phoenix had risen, but so had a new dawn—and with it, a new threat. Jaxson tightened his grip on the locket, drawing strength from his grandmother's memory. He was the Prowler. He would protect this city, no matter the cost. And he would not face it alone.
