…Elder Maeve’s eyes widened, a knowing smile spreading across her face. She looked at Anya, then at Borin, and finally at Kaelen, who had approached, his curiosity piqued. A new understanding began to dawn, a fragile hope blooming in the heart of the Budum lands. The shadows on the horizon were indeed formidable, but perhaps, just perhaps, the Budum had found a way to bring their own light to bear. The true test, however, was yet to come.
