In the distance, the red flower’s glow could be seen through a crack in the ground. “We did it,” Squeaky panted. “We planted the seed.” “But the shadow isn’t gone,” Mortimer said. “The Keeper is still there.” Greg stared at the crack. “The flower is growing. Maybe it will defeat the shadow by the full moon.” Thumper looked worried. “But the full moon is tomorrow night.” They all fell silent. Tomorrow, the fate of the Whispering Woods would be decided. And deep underground, the Keeper’s eyes glowed brighter. “The flower blooms… but I have one more trick.” A low rumble shook the forest, and a new shadow crept across the ground, heading toward Greg’s garden.
