…When I came back to my room, my phone buzzed. It was Don. "You okay?" he asked. "No," I said honestly. "But I'm still here." "Same. Look, I've been thinking. Maybe we should go see Dr. Sharma together. Tell her everything." I hesitated. "You think she'll believe us?" "I don't know. But we have to try. This is bigger than us." I looked at the pill bottle on my nightstand. "Okay. Tomorrow. First thing." "It's a plan." We hung up, and I sat in the silence, the Jester's laugh still echoing in my mind. The game wasn't over. It was just beginning. And I had a feeling the next round would be the hardest yet.
