The failed rocket, once a symbol of their desperate yearning for freedom, was now the vessel of their assimilation, a monument to a new form of existence. The normal life they had tried to cling to was gone, replaced by the silent, inevitable embrace of the alomos, and the planet they called home. The chapter closed with the low, resonant hum of the transformed rocket, a sound that promised not escape, but an eternal, alien belonging.
