Every moment you decide to stay.” She stood, brushed off her hands, and crossed to him. Margaret gurgled, reaching for his face. Dale took her small hand and kissed it. “I’m glad you stayed,” Skye said. “I’m glad you gave me a reason.” They kissed, soft and sweet, as the last light faded from the sky. The garden around them was quiet, full of promise. And in that moment, Dale knew that this was what he had been building toward all along. . A life. With her. Forever.
