The world was moving, but they were still, a small island of peace in the flow of time. Margaret reached up and grabbed Dale’s finger, her grip surprisingly strong. He looked down at her, at the eyes that held so much promise, and felt his heart swell. “Welcome to the world, little one,” he whispered. “It’s full of broken things.
