Nina and William, hand in hand, led the way, their friendship a beacon of kindness that had illuminated the classroom and brought everyone closer. The playground, usually a place where friendships were quickly formed and just as quickly broken, felt like a place of boundless possibilities, all because a brave little girl had seen past a wheelchair to the heart of a new friend. And as they ran, or rolled, into the sunshine, it was clear that Nina's new friend was now everyone's friend.
