The air in the chamber, though still carrying a faint hint of the blight, felt lighter, cleaner. The oppressive sweetness was gone, replaced by the familiar scent of home, of woodsmoke and drying herbs. Outside, the grey tendrils of the blight seemed to recede, faltering in the face of Kael’s awakened will and Elara’s unwavering love. The land, though wounded, began to breathe again.
