When they emerged, the farm was quiet. The sky was clear. The crack in the earth had sealed. But on the windmill's railing, a single silver feather lay, not from the star cat, but from a bird they had never seen before. And in the air, a new scent, like rain on dry stone, carried a whisper: "The stars have noticed you, little cat. They are watching."
