…“You cannot leave,” the whisper hissed, laced with a chilling amusement. “You are mine now.” Emily whimpered, her earlier excitement replaced by a genuine terror. She scrambled closer to Sally, burying her face in her mother’s side. “Selly, no! I want to go home!” But Selly’s form pulsed, a dark wave rippling through the living room. The wooden bird on the windowsill chirped, a sharp, grating sound, and its obsidian eyes fixed on Emily. The gifts were not benign. They were chains. And Selly had just presented them with the ultimate gift: their own home, turned into a cage. The game was over. Now, it was time to survive.
