We were wondering where you’d gone.” She knelt down, her lavender-and-sunshine hands reaching for Bailey. “Did you have a nice explore?” Bailey nudged her hand, a silent thank you. She looked back at the rhododendron bush, a knowing gleam in her soft, brown eyes. She had found her quiet spot. And as she looked at her family, her heart felt a little lighter, a little braver. Maybe, just maybe, she could learn to manage the fluttery secret after all. The quiet spot, she suspected, was just the beginning.
