…“Thank you, Richard,” he said, the words carrying the weight of a shared history and a boundless future. He turned, and with a final, almost imperceptible shift in his stance, he began to walk away, not into the shadows of the lab, but towards the open expanse of the world, a world that was, perhaps, a little more stable, a little more balanced, because of him. Richard watched him go, a solitary figure against the urban glow, and for the first time, he truly understood the meaning of love, and the profound peace that came with letting go.
