…Luna gasped, tears welling in her eyes. She looked back at Xylo, his face shadowed, his form seeming to blend with the encroaching darkness of the Underworld. “Thank you, Xylo,” she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. He simply nodded, his gaze fixed on the opening. “Go, child. Your journey is over. Mine… continues.” With one last, longing look at the reluctant guide who had saved her life countless times, Luna stepped through the stone door, into the brilliant embrace of the sun. The Underworld slammed shut behind her with a deafening boom, plunging the passage back into eternal darkness. Luna didn't look back. She was home.
