…She pulled over a few blocks away and picked up her phone. A quick call to the lab, requesting priority on the sample. Then she sat in the silence, staring at the dashboard. The taste of the air in that shop lingered in her mouth. She couldn't shake it. It was like copper and something else, something that made her think of closed spaces and old secrets.
