…I was the last truly offline human, a living testament to a world that no longer existed for anyone else. My life, deliberate and solitary, was my own. I finished my meal, washed the dishes, and settled into my armchair, another book in hand. The faint hum of the city, the unseen pulse of the global network, was a constant, distant reminder of my unique, isolated existence. I closed my eyes, not to drift into a shared consciousness, but into the deep, private well of my own mind. The world outside continued its silent, connected symphony, a melody I could only witness, never join. And as I drifted into sleep, blissfully unaware, the very fabric of that symphony began to unravel.
