…He lifted the lid. Inside lay a folded piece of paper and a small key, made of silver. He unfolded the paper. The handwriting was Dr. Alvarez's. Larry, if you are reading this, you have found the Serpent's Tail. The key opens the door to the Heart of the Sun. Use it wisely. Trust no one. The woman in the photograph is Esperanza. She knows the truth. Find her. Larry's hands trembled. Esperanza. A person, not a place. A sound came from behind him. A footstep. He turned, expecting Rojas. But Rojas was not there. Instead, the man in the suit stood at the entrance to the chamber, a gun in his hand. "Thank you for leading me here, Mr. Hinojosa," he said. "Now, if you please, the key."
