A branch snapping. Rojas was on his feet in an instant, his machete in hand. He moved to the window, peering out into the darkness. "What is it?" Larry whispered. Rojas held up a hand, signaling for silence. Larry held his breath, listening. The jungle was quiet. Too quiet. And then he heard it. Footsteps. Slow and deliberate. Someone was approaching the post. Rojas turned to Larry, his face grim. "We are not alone."
