…"He'll be back," Leo said, his voice low. Anya nodded, her hand finding his. "I know. But for now… we have protected it." She looked at La VID, her expression a mixture of awe and dawning understanding. "And perhaps, in doing so, we've protected something much larger than ourselves." Leo squeezed her hand, his grip firm. The treasure hunt was over. A new mission had begun. And for the first time in a long time, he felt a flicker of genuine purpose, a quiet strength that had been buried beneath years of disillusionment. The fate of La VID, and perhaps much more, rested in their hands.
