He would safeguard the stories, the art, the very essence of his people, for the day when the stars might align once more, and the journey beyond the veil might lead them back home. The whispers of the departed no longer haunted him; they guided him, a gentle chorus of a world reborn, a promise of continuity in the face of the unknown.
