…As the first few fireworks, a surprisingly impressive display that Barnaby had somehow orchestrated with a series of strategically placed firecrackers and a very long fuse, burst into the twilight sky, Kayson knew, with a certainty that surprised even himself, that this was just the beginning. The carnival was alive again. And it was more magical, more chaotic, and more wonderful than he could have ever imagined. He was no longer just Kayson, the clumsy teenager.
