…Kayson looked around the slightly disheveled, gloriously imperfect carnival grounds. He had inherited a disaster, a chaotic mess of broken dreams and rusting metal. But with the help of a stern librarian with a secret adventurous streak, a grumpy strongman with a heart of gold, and the surprisingly resilient spirit of the townsfolk, he had created something beautiful. Something chaotic, yes, but undeniably magical. He had saved his uncle’s carnival. And perhaps, in doing so, he had found a little bit of magic within himself. The chaos, it turned out, was just the prelude to the wonder.
