…With Jesus's help, Jude won the fight. After putting the man to sleep, Jude resurrected him. Then Jude prayed heavily, asking the Lord for release. When it was Jude's turn in court, supernatural events began. Lights flickered on and off. Jude spoke: if the Lord was with me, blink one light for no, and blink two light on for yes. The judge could not believe his eyes. The cuffs on Jude's wrists fell off. The judge said, "Do we have another Houdini?" Jude replied, "No, this is the Lord Jesus Christ, and I walk with the Lord. It is time to let me out." The judge did what the Lord commanded and let Jude go.

Sunlight struck Jude's face as he stepped out past the courthouse doors, dazed by the open air and the sharp shouts of traffic nearby. The sky above was a slab of brilliant blue, nothing like the thin, painted strip seen through jailhouse bars. Every nerve tingled. Jude inhaled deeply—air unfiltered by linoleum, metal, or despair—and whispered, “Thank you, Jesus.”

Cars honked, pigeons fluttered. Jude’s hands still bore the faint red impressions where the cuffs had bitten skin. He tightened his grip on the wrinkled jacket clutched in his fist, the only possession returned with his freedom. There was no one waiting on the courthouse steps: no family, no friends, just the echoing memory of chains falling to the floor. Yet, Jude did not feel alone. An invisible warmth radiated in his chest, like an embrace that lingered in the marrow.

He took a step forward. Legs wobbled at first, but faith steadied them. Each stride felt like dancing, purposeful and light. Jude remembered the heavy silence of the cell and the unmistakable voice that had whispered comfort, the presence that filled the empty hours with hope. That voice seemed closer than ever now, humming beneath the city’s noise, wrapping the moment in calm.

A few passersby stared, some with curiosity, others with suspicion. Jude ignored them. He kept walking, marveling at the day's simple gifts: the sweet staleness of city air, the rustle of paper in gutters, the far-off laughter of a child. Every sound felt like evidence—a thousand fingerprints of the divine on everything ordinary.

Jude reached the edge of the courthouse plaza and paused, unsure where to go next. His pockets were empty; his future a blank page. Yet in the midst of uncertainty, he felt certain that the Lord would guide his next steps. He remembered the fiery peace in the courtroom, the judge’s stunned expression, the way the Lord’s power had broken every chain. The memory brought questions, and a tremor of awe.

But as Jude lingered, a man in a brown suit approached. He wore a badge at his belt, but his face was gentle. “Jude? I saw what happened in there,” he said quietly. “You have something special—the Lord’s with you. I’m supposed to take you somewhere. Will you come with me?”

Jude hesitated, wonder and caution at war inside him. The man’s eyes were steady, waiting, as if he knew how much this moment would matter. The plaza around them pulsed with light, the world holding its breath.

A siren wailed in the distance. The wind caught the edges of Jude’s jacket, lifting it like a banner. He felt the weight of every choice, the hush before a leap into the unknown.
