…"Sam? I'm glad I caught you. There's been an update. It's about Lily's estate. The solicitor called. There's a letter. They need you to come in tomorrow morning." The tube of paint in Sam's pocket felt suddenly heavy. The fog thickened again, cold and grey. "A letter?" Sam said. "From Lily?" The nurse nodded. "It was found in her personal effects. It's addressed to you. They've been trying to reach you for months." Sam's hand tightened around the tube of paint. The cerulean blue. The colour of the sky after a storm. But the storm wasn't over. It was just beginning.
