…As they walked back toward the dorms, the first light of dawn began to break over the city. Liucijus felt a strange, fragile hope. He had found a language for his mind, a system of logic that made sense of the world. But he had also found a kindred spirit, someone who seemed to understand that there was more to life than the approved program. It was a beginning, a first line of code in a much larger program. He did not yet know what the final output would be, but for the first time, he felt ready to begin writing it.
