His Dark Love

Previously

…The shadows of the city blurred, the world outside the cockpit dissolving into streaks of light and darkness. This was it. This was freedom. The roar of the crowd, the adrenaline coursing through my veins, the sheer, unadulterated thrill of pushing the limits – it was a catharsis, a brief, intoxicating escape from the suffocating weight of my inheritance. I was no longer Diego Stawarski, the reluctant heir, the pawn in Frederick’s games. I was just a driver, a hunter, a creature of the night, racing towards an uncertain finish line. The business deal, the Gonzalez name, my father’s suffocating grip – they all faded into the roaring oblivion of the track. For tonight, at least, I was free.
