He stumbled, his hand brushing against hers. “Get out of the way!” he snarled. The burly man, enraged by her defiance, shoved past the lean intruder and grabbed Granny Mama’s arm. “You stubborn old fool!” he roared. Granny Mama cried out, a sharp gasp of pain as his grip tightened. She struggled, her small frame no match for his brute strength.
