…“What’s that?” Maggie asked, her detective instincts kicking in, overriding her fear. Shirya’s eyes narrowed. “It is a beacon. A marker. We are close.” They spurred their camels forward, the rhythmic thud of their hooves the only sound breaking the vast silence. The light grew brighter, resolving into a faint glow emanating from a cluster of ancient ruins nestled between colossal dunes. It was the Temple of Whispering Sands. And as they approached, Maggie could feel it – a palpable energy radiating from the crumbling stone, a hum that resonated deep within her soul. Her vacation was officially over. The real work, the impossible work, had just begun.
