…Toons’s eyes widened. He knelt down, a grin spreading across his muzzle. “Madame Giggle,” he said, his voice laced with a newfound understanding, “I don’t think this little fellow stole the spoon to make jam.” He gestured to the mouse, who was now tentatively sniffing the spoon’s handle. “I think he mistook it for a giant, delicious… pretzel.” The mouse squeaked again, a sound that, to Toons’s ears, sounded remarkably like agreement. The mystery of the missing Golden Spoon was about to take a very unexpected, and very small, turn.
