In his chambers, King Chrisias knelt before a small, unadorned cross, his lips moving in silent prayer. He felt a profound sense of purpose, a conviction that he was walking the path of righteousness. Yet, a tiny, persistent whisper at the back of his mind, a ghost of his own doubt, wondered if the divine light he felt was truly from above, or merely a reflection of the fire Cestro had so carefully stoked within him. The kingdom, it seemed, was no longer his primary concern, but the whispers of his own conscience, however faint, were beginning to grow louder.
