…As he rode towards the palace, the city seemed to hold its breath. The usual boisterous marketplace was subdued, the merchants casting wary glances at the soldiers who patrolled the streets with an unusual vigilance. The air, once filled with the scent of spices and the chatter of commerce, now carried a faint, metallic tang of apprehension. The whispers of the serpent had begun to coil around the heart of the kingdom, and no one, not even the King, seemed to realize the danger. The harvest of righteousness was coming, but Julius feared it would be a harvest of tears and blood.
