…“Because the gate isn’t the only one. There’s another. I can feel it.” They ran. The tunnels twisted and turned, the hum growing louder until it was all they could hear. Finally, they emerged into a small chamber, circular, with a stone pedestal in the center. On the pedestal sat a second key, identical to the one Samira had used. And behind the pedestal, another gate shimmered—smaller, but just as dark, just as hungry. The figure’s voice echoed through the tunnels, laughing. “You found the second door. But this one has a different price. Are you ready to pay it?” Samira stared at the key. Her hand ached. Her brother was crying. The creatures were closing in. She had seconds to decide.
