The weight of the future pressed down on him, but so did something else—a strange, fierce protectiveness. He glanced at Tyler, who was staring out the window, his hand still on his stomach. "We'll figure this out," Dylan said. "Together." Tyler turned to him, and for the first time in weeks, there was a spark of hope in his eyes. "Together?" "Yeah," Dylan said. "We started this together. We'll see it through together." And as the car pulled away, the road ahead of them stretching into the unknown, Dylan knew that nothing would ever be the same.
